Activities in Olympia

Need a game for a game night or as a gift? Try PlayLive Nation for the latest in tabletop gaming and accessories, including Dungeons & Dragons. Or head to Go Games for new twists on the classics like Monopoly and Life.

Or maybe you need to while away the afternoon when the weather is so-so or your kids are tired of the backyard.  You are not going to believe the options at Capital Mall for activities, all locally-owned! Try the Airsoft Challenge, where you can shoot airsoft rifles at targets, or head to PlayLive Nation for the gamers in the family. Musically-inclined kids can have lessons at Sound Studio Olympia. Rising Tide Karate has classes for all ages, kids through adult. Timberland Regional Library is a great place to find and read a book or use a computer.

While your kids are entertained, you can get a massage at Homeport Foot Massage or Terra Firm Cosmetics. Terra Firm also has great cosmetics and skin care accessories, so be sure to browse them after you’ve been rejuvenated with a facial. They also do waxing, brows and lashes, with more treatments being added all the time.

They can screen print or embroider your design on various items. And there is no minimum order, so go ahead and make something special for someone’s birthday or buy matching shirts for your next vacation.

Locally-Owned Restaurants and Eateries at Capital Mall

By now you have got to be getting hungry, or thirsty – not a problem! The Capital Mall has several locally-owned restaurants and eateries to give you a pick-me-up. Try Waffle Craze with their rotating specials of both sweet and savory waffles. Can’t decide? No problem, buy a flight and try three different flavors. A long-time employee of Waffle Craze says it’s an amazing local-company to work for. “I get to make waffles all day, who wouldn’t love that?” she shares.

“What I love about being in the mall most would be that the people that stop in my shop are usually in good spirits, I’m grateful to be part of their mall experience for the time they are in here to try one of our waffle creations while shopping, catching a movie, or just coming to check us out,” says Brian Haney, owner of Waffle Craze. He opened Waffle Craze because he had the entrepreneur spirit that just kept tugging at him to be his own boss. Stop by and say hi!

Miso is another great, locally-owned restaurant in Capital Mall that’s perfect for those looking for something healthy and delicious. They can cater to allergies like gluten and dairy free, which is always helpful.

Sub-Zero Freeze Dried Candy is a great place to go for a sweet treat. An employee there says they have the best location, right next to Braganza Pearl Tea and kitty-corner to Northwest Grind – both of which pair great with their yummy, freeze-dried confections – and are locally-owned too! I recommend the freeze-dried skittles with a matcha latte from Northwest Grind or matcha bubble tea from Braganza Tea: amazing!

Stack 571 is another great choice for those looking for a sit-down meal to take a break from all the shopping and playing – so you can do more shopping and playing!
