Our mother’s do so much for us, it’s nice to take a lovely spring day to thank them! Whether you are looking for the traditional Mother’s Day brunch or an activity to do together as a family that mom will love, there are plenty of events happening that weekend. Here are some Mother’s Day brunches and events in Olympia and throughout Thurston County.

Mother’s Day Garden

May 13: 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
WET Science Center

Head to the WET Science Center the day before Mother’s Day to create decorations inspired by flower gardens for the women in your life. This is a drop-in activity.

Mother’s Day Brunch

May 14: 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Olympia Elks Lodge

What mom doesn’t love a brunch in her honor? The Olympia Elks is hosting a Mother’s Day brunch on May 14 that benefits the Children’s Therapy Program. They will have all the brunch favorites, including fruit, bacon, eggs, sausage, hashbrowns and more. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased on Eventbrite.

Take Home Mother’s Day Brunch

Looking for a scrumptious meal to take and share with the whole family in celebration of mom? Order a Mother’s Day brunch from Thriftway! The brunch serves 6 to 10 people and includes a deep dish quiche Lorraine with diced ham, spinach, green onions and gourmet cheeses. Paired with it are a fresh fruit salad and Schwartz Brother’s lemon pound cake. Pre-order Mother’s Day Brunch online before May 8 at 3 p.m.

Olympia Wooden Boat Fair

A fun day for the whole family is spending Mother’s Day at the Olympia Wooden Boat Fair. This free event has all kinds of wooden boats on display, as well as vendors of all kinds as well as live music. When you’re hungry, just hit the International Food Alley where you will find all sorts of yummy treats. On Saturday there will be a children’s boat building booth from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. – or until supplies run out.

Family Support Center of South Sound Mother’s Day 5K and Kids 1 Mile Run

May 14: 7 a.m.
Hands On Children’s Museum
414 Jefferson St NE, Olympia

If you’ve got an active mom, or one who loves to give, the Family Support Center of South Sound’s Mother’s Day 5K and kids 1 Mile Run might be just the thing! You can come and do it in person at the Hands On Children’s Museum on Mother’s Day morning, or participate virtually from anywhere you like. Benefits go directly to families and survivors in need. Online registration ends May 10.

Sea Stroll: Historic Shoreline Tours

May 14: 1 p.m.
Puget Sound Estuarium
309 State Ave NE, Olympia

If your mom is into history, she may enjoy this fun walk hosted by the Puget Sound Estuarium. The walking tour including walking the shore while learning about the cultural and ecological history of Olympia. Tickets are $15 a person, kids 12 and under are free – and welcome! Princess Tea Party

Celebrate Mother’s Day a week late with this fun Princess Tea Party at Indian Summer Golf & Country Club. There will be raffles, wand making, pictures with princesses and dancing.
