Lacey Depot Park Pairs Great Food with Fun Events

In 2020,  the Lacey City Council approved the food truck pilot project at the Lacey Depot Park and it’s grown in popularity ever since. The park is home to some of the best food trucks around. Each vendor is an independent small business and sets their own schedule, which is subject to change:

  • Bobablastic: 11:30 -7 p.m. daily
  • Lava Bowlz aka Aloha Acai & Coffee:  7:30 a.m.-4 p.m. Tuesday-Friday, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Saturday-Sunday.
  • Mi Pueblo Express, 11 a.m. – 8 p.m. Tuesday to Sunday
  • Meggie’s Lumpia, 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. Friday to Tuesday
  • Sweetlee’s Ice Cream 3 p.m. – 8 p.m. most days (check their Facebook page)
  • Sensational Cajun – 2 days per month

One of the best things about a food truck court is you have lots of choices and, even if you come with your family or friends, you don’t have to agree on what to eat! One person can eat tacos, another can have an acai bowl, and another lumpia – Filipino spring rolls – or maybe you just want to skip right to dessert at Sweetlee’s – they won’t judge and neither will we!

Pairing this great park and incredible food trucks with Love Local Events is a match made in heaven. “I love seeing the excitement and joy on everyone’s faces at our events,” shares Bernetia Johnson, owner producer at Love Local Events. “We go out of our way to make sure that all our guests feel invited and appreciated. Our themed Friday Night Markets are some of the most fun in the area where pirates and fairies come out to play or we flash back to the 80s or 90s for a night of dancing and fun!”

Sundays in Lacey Depot Park

The 2023 events start on Sunday, April 23 with Sundays in the Park. This family- and pet-friendly event runs from noon to 4 p.m., featuring food, fun, activities, and entertainment for kids and adults alike. The April 23 event kicks off with local children’s entertainer, Guy Steele, aka Mr. Twister, appearing as children’s sensation “Blippy.” Parents can relax and listen to live music while their kids enjoy activities and games. Sound perfect? It’s all happening at the Lacey Depot! You don’t want to miss it!

First Fridays @ The Depot in Lacey

Looking for the perfect date night or a night out with friends? Come to the First Fridays @ The Depot from 5 to 9 p.m., beginning May 5. These events will include artists and small businesses and the bands will cater to a more mature audience. “We are hoping people will bring chairs and blankets and picnic during our events and enjoy spending time with others in their community,” shares Bernetia. “Guests can also visit one of our fun selfie spots to capture memories or visit one of our professional photographers like All Around Town Photography for a fun, themed photo with their family and friends. You never know what the team at Love Local will come up with!”

“As it warms up, we will have cornhole, magic shows, bounce houses, and dog-training demos!” shares Bernetia. “In July we will have the return of our popular Foam Cannon and October will be our second annual Spooky in the Park with costumes, and family-friendly activities. Our goal is to have a large array of various small business owners, artists, crafters, food vendors, and nonprofits at every event.”

This summer and fall, the Lacey Depot Park is your ice cream sundae and Love Local Events is the cherry on top with events created to keep the whole family full, entertained, and smiling.
