The Olympia Downtown Alliance, in partnership with the City of Olympia, invites the community to an End of the Construction Celebration on Saturday, June 11, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Franklin and 4th Avenue, downtown Olympia.

We’ll have face painting, jugglers and other roving entertainers. We’ll have a dump truck and backhoe on-site for an up-close look at heavy machinery! Are you curious to know more about the construction process or the finer paving details? We’ll have project managers on-site to answer your most challenging questions. KXXO Mixx 96 will be live on-site—be sure to “Spin the Wheel” while you’re there and win a prize from one of the participating businesses. Everyone wins a prize!

The Franklin Street Improvement project spanned Legion Way to State Avenue. This improvement project added

  • New sidewalks
  • Curb bulb-outs at intersections
  • Decorative pedestrian and street lighting
  • A new concrete street surface
  • New street trees and planters
  • Public art
  • Bike racks

“The Franklin Street project is a great example of the City of Olympia investing in downtown to improve its aesthetic and infrastructure to make it a better place to live and do business. Both the recent Legion Way project and the Franklin Street beautification projects added more ADA accessible, bicycle-friendly, pedestrian-friendly and in the future create festival-ready streets,” said Todd Cutts, Olympia Downtown Alliance Executive Director. “We hope the community joins us on June 11 to help celebrate the completion of this milestone.”
