Gold medals reigned for Westport Winery on May 16, 2022, when the Seattle Wine Awards announced their recent competition results.

Peaches on the Beaches peach Riesling topped the list with 97-points and a double gold medal. Winery co-owner Carrie Roberts said, “This is one of our most popular wines. Our winemaker, Mark Bosso, consistently increases production to meet our guests’ demand.”

The Peaches on the Beaches label features an original watercolor by Darryl Easter of a nude female. A portion of the proceeds from this wine benefits the Grays Harbor Cancer Alliance. A sculpture by Lora Malakoff commemorating this wine is in the winery’s 15-acre display garden.

The winery’s new rosé named Humu Humu Nuku Nuku Apua’a received 94-points and a gold medal as did Bella, a classic Sangiovese.

Kraken, the winery’s reserve Cabernet Sauvignon crafted from grapes picked at Joe Hattrup’s Elephant Mountain Vineyard in the Rattlesnake Hills AVA netted 92-points and a gold medal, as did Dawn Patrol raspberry Riesling.

Shelter From The Storm, a port-style Syrah, Going Coastal Gewurztraminer, and Medusa, a Viognier and Chardonnay blend, all won silver medals at the competition.
