Organizers of the South Sound Block Party (SSBP) have announced the lineup for the inaugural festival taking place Friday, August 26 and Saturday, August 27, 2022 at The Port of Olympia in Olympia.

The two-day festival is headlined by Sub Pop grunge rockers BULLY and GRAMMY-nominated songstress Courtney Marie Andrews. The rest of the lineup is full of breakout national and international touring acts – with a handful of Olympia’s own up and coming bands peppered in.

Along with 14+ live bands over two days, SSBP promises local food vendors and pop-ups, a large beer garden, games, and more – all along the shores of the Puget Sound in beautiful Olympia.

Per the organizers, the festival plans to become an annual memory-maker and summer highlight that shines a light on the local community. Founder and Producer Christen Greene (she/her) says, “With the South Sound Block Party we aim to help restore, preserve, and contribute to the historic and legendary Olympia music scene for years to come.”

Greene is a 15-year music industry veteran who recently relocated to the region and has a deep reverence for the Pacific Northwest musical canon. She has partnered with Toyota of Olympia, Experience Olympia & Beyond, South Puget Sound Community College, the Port of Olympia, and others for the event. Their partnerships are helping produce an event with a lineup that has some serious indie cred – one of Olympia’s musical calling cards – while still maintaining a, ‘something-for-everyone’ approach.

Other music highlights include; The Cave Singers, alt-indie jazz darlings The Seshen, Seattle’s Lemonboy Polaris Music Prize winner Lido Pimiento, and Olympia’s own, Lovely Colours.

As stated on the festival website Greene aims to, “Create an annual community event that will highlight music and commerce at an affordable price point while providing revenue, jobs, and experience for the working music and production communities in Thurston County.”

Weekend general admission (GA) passes for the event are $45 (+ taxes and fees), and a limited number of Weekend VIP Passes are available for $95 (+ taxes and fees). VIP passes include parking, a private entrance, stage access and more.
