Effective March 16, in light of the significant downward trend in case numbers and the State-wide easing in restrictions, the Washington Center for the Performing Arts will no longer require proof of vaccination or a negative test to enter the venue. Patrons will still be encouraged, but not required, to wear masks while in the facility.
Since the pandemic began, the Washington Center for the Performing Arts has reflected policies in alignment with both state and local health authorities as well as our industry peers as we navigated the many challenges of COVID-19.
We joined performing arts centers nationally to require proof of vaccine or a negative COVID-19 test for entry along with masking as an additional safety measure for all patrons, staff, volunteers, and artists.
The Washington Center will continue to implement the following safety measures to keep patrons safe during this pandemic.
- Cleaning procedures. The Washington Center will remain vigilant in cleaning high-touch surfaces like elevator buttons, doors, railings, counters and restrooms frequently.
- Screening for symptoms. Staff, volunteers and artists are required to self-screen for COVID-19 symptoms daily (fever, cough, shortness of breath, sore throat, etc). We request that all patrons self-screen for symptoms prior to arrival as well. If you are ill, please stay home. If you need to make arrangements for your existing tickets due to a COVID-19 related illness or exposure, contact the Washington Center box office at 360-753-8586.
- We will continue to require everyone backstage to have proof of vaccine or a negative COVID test, as well as mask when not actively performing.
- The Washington Center will continue to partner with Curative to provide PCR and Rapid tests to the community. The Curative testing kiosk is located right outside the box office and available weekdays from 9 am – 4 pm.
As always, remember to wash your hands frequently and use hand sanitizer if hand washing is not available.
If an individual event has different COVID protocols, the Center will communicate that information on the event’s webpage as well as via e-mails to ticket holders.
