Intercity Transit’s Walk N Roll youth education program has a new mascot! This summer T-rex is educating youth and families in Thurston County about walking, biking and riding public transit through a series of videos. In the videos T-Rex teaches important safety skills like using hand signals, crossing the street safely, mounting a bike on the bus and how to do a bike safety check.

Walk N Roll is also organizing a community event to encourage more families and youth to walk and roll during the month of August. Throughout the month, T-Rex will hide in parks, windows, and public spaces around the Lacey, Olympia, and Tumwater. Participants who find T-Rex can email a picture or a description of T-Rex’s hiding place to walknroll@intercitytransit.com to be entered in a weekly prize drawing. Community organizations, businesses, and individuals are encouraged to participate by hiding T-Rex in locations visible to people walking and rolling. To print your own T-Rex and to learn more about the event, visit the website. Participants can follow Walk N Roll on Facebook or Instagram for event updates and hints about where T-Rex is hiding!
