The South Puget Sound men’s basketball team continued its white-hot start to 2020 by notching its 11th consecutive victory with a 76-67 win over Green River College at The Evergreen State College on February 8.

Cacoa Chatman was one of four Clippers to score in double digits as the sophomore guard went for a game-high 18 points to help SPSCC improve to 19-4 overall and a perfect 9-0 in Northwest Athletic Conference West Division play.

The Clippers also received 17 points from Anthony Braggs, 16 points and 10 rebounds from Ben Janssan and 15 points from Branden Bunn.

South Puget Sound opened the contest a 17-2 run and held a 35-24 advantage at the intermission. The Clippers shot 44.3 percent from the field (27 of 61) while holding the visiting Gators to 40.3 percent shooting (25-62) and posted a 38-29 edge in rebounds.

Already assured a berth into the NWAC tournament, SPSCC has five games left in the regular season, beginning with a key matchup at home against Lower Columbia (19-4, 7-1) on February 12. The Clippers won the first meeting against the Red Devils, 84-82, getting a combined 70 points from Bunn, Chatman and Janssan.

The Clippers will also play home games on February 19 against Highline and February 22 against Grays Harbor.
