Every 65 seconds – that’s how often someone in the United States develops Alzheimer’s disease.  It is now the sixth leading cause of death in the United States, according to a new 2019 report released this week by the Alzheimer’s Association.  With this disease on the rise and a record number of unpaid family caregivers for people with Alzheimer’s and other dementias, chances are that you know someone who is touched by this disease.  If you don’t now, you will.

Fortunately, there is help for families and loved ones struggling with this reality and it’s coming to Olympia in the form of education and resources at the annual South Sound Alzheimer’s Conference held on Friday, May 10, at Westwood Baptist Church on Olympia’s west side from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Morning Keynote Speaker – Dr. Emily Trittschuh

“If It’s Not Alzheimer’s, What Is It?”
