Since June of 2016, 57 homes have sold at the popular Rob Rice Homes community of Steilacoom Ridge near Olympia where happy homebuyers have had the choice of 10 beautiful floorplans–many of them highly desired rambler or master down plans. Set in an ideal location, all of the homes have the high-end features and superior construction that are typical of Rob Rice Homes.

With such a huge demand in the last two years, Phase I of Steilacoom Ridge nears its completion and will be followed by Phase II. But, if buyers are seeking their ideal home right now and want a specific floor plan, it would be wise to check our inventory soon.

“There is still something for everyone,” says Christina Janis, who, along with Lucia Arroyo, represents Rob Rice Homes at the new homes community. “Even our current move-in ready* homes provide a range of choices-a downstairs master, a rambler and a larger two-story plan.”

Three Popular Options are Move-In Ready

The McKinley (2360 sf) is the current model home and is ready for a buyer who desires a 2-story home with 3 bedrooms and an open loft upstairs.

“This home is the perfect middle ground between our Alder (2172 sf) and our large Rainier (2553 sf) plan,” explains Christina. “Homeowners love the office space or flex room, that provides an extra room downstairs. The home has a formal dining room as well as a breakfast nook and the kitchen is a U-shape that many people like. The open family room is a great gathering spot, with a powder bathroom nearby. Upstairs, there is a bathroom that is split by a door so one person can use the shower privately while another uses the sink. It is a perfect plan for a lot of households.”

Though Steilacoom Ridge offers several rambler plans, the Hemlock (1856 sf) is the last available rambler in Phase I and is one of Rob Rice Homes newest plans. Christina says home buyers love the luxurious master suite on one side of the house with a guest bedroom on the other. It has the additional flex room at the front of the house for a possible extra bedroom.

“You don’t have stacked bedrooms on one side of the home and you have a great open entertainment space where the living, kitchen and dining room are all centered in the home,” Christina explains.

Completing these choices of move-in ready homes is the popular Pine (2457), a 2-story home with a lovely downstairs master suite.

“People love the home’s bay window, and the huge island in the kitchen sells it,” describes Christina. “With 3 bedrooms downstairs and a bonus room, additional bedroom and a full bath upstairs, there is lots of room for multi-generational living or for hosting family or guests.”

More Under Construction

There are also three more homes available that are currently under construction: the popular Spruce downstairs master plan (2445 sf), the highly desirable 2-story Rainier plan (2553 sf) and the stunning 4-bedroom Alder (2172 sf). They are scheduled to be finished by late summer or fall and will provide even more choices for today’s buyer.

And there are other lots where framing has not yet begun. Those will all be either master down or 2-story home plans.

Happy Steilacoom Ridge Homeowners

In the two years Christina has been assisting homebuyers at Steilacoom Ridge, she has often heard high praise from grateful homeowners.

One military family who received new orders after living in Steilacoom Ridge for a year told her that their intention is to hold on to their home, no matter where they are sent because they recognize the home’s value. They enjoy living in the community so much, they would like to retire there.

Another happy, retired couple visited her recently and expressed how much they loved their home after moving out of a larger home that had a lot of upkeep. The husband bragged about how quickly he mowed his new lawn!

“A lot of people move in here and then refer their friends, or their friends come and see their home and love it,” says Christina.

The seasoned Realtor explains that it is not only the Best of South Sound builder’s gorgeous homes that attract so many to Steilacoom Ridge.

“This community’s location is always key, not only because it is easy to get to Joint Base Lewis McChord, which is huge, but also because people-especially those with family up north and to the south-love the central location. To get to I-5, you just continue on Steilacoom Road, through the picturesque Nisqually Valley, go through one light and you are at the highway entrance.”

For now, there are plenty of choices for homebuyers at Steilacoom Ridge, but don’t wait long. Considering how fast the homes have sold there in the last two years, they may not last long.

And be sure to stay tuned for when Rob Rice Homes is ready to start Phase II!
