Thurston County Health Department has lifted the toxic blue-green algae advisory for Long Lake in Lacey. The most recent samples show microcystin algae toxin levels at or below .5 micrograms per liter of water, below the state standard level of public health concern of six micrograms per liter.

long lake laceyThe City of Lacey has re-opened the Long Lake Park beach and swimming area, following the Friday, August 18 closure after the water samples detected a microcystin algae toxin level of 21 micrograms per liter of water.

Algae blooms during the summer and fall months are common. If you see an algae bloom please contact the Health Department for further testing at 360-867-2626.
