The Swantown Marina launch ramp and turn-around will be closed June 5 through June 13 for asphalt replacement. These areas are located at the North end of Swantown Marina accessed via Marine Drive. Marine Drive will remain open with no disruption to traffic accessing Anthony’s Hearthfire Grill, KGY/KAYO or Holbrook Inc. offices.
The current launch ramp turn-around area and drainage system were constructed 30 years ago and are in need of significant repairs. Reconstruction of the road and turn-around will provide:
· Enhanced stormwater management
· Smoother access to East Bay waters
· Reduced impacts to Puget Sound via pre-treatment of surface water runoff
The launch ramp enhancement is part of the Port’s ongoing effort to reduce environmental impacts at all Port facilities. Work has been scheduled to coincide with upcoming fuel dock construction to reduce the overall length of circulation impacts.
