On April 6, 2015, the City of Olympia’s contractor, Dickson Co., will begin demolition of the 505 4th Avenue W building (known as the former Housing Authority building). During demolition, a portion of the sidewalk along Simmons Street and 4th Avenue will be closed. This work is expected to take no more than 10 working days. At this time, no site improvements are planned or funded.
In recent years, Olympia acquired two properties on the “Isthmus” at 505 and 529 Fourth Avenue W. Demolition of the second building – the one at the 529 address (former County Health Department), will occur in early summer.
