westport winery nirvanaThree of Westport Winery’s latest vintages earned silver medals at the Savor NW Wine Competition in Canon Beach, Oregon this week.

The first, Willapa White, is an off-dry blend of Riesling from Red Willow Vineyard and Pinot Gris from Airfield Estates. A portion of the proceeds from this wine benefits WeFish a commercial fishing family organization in Westport. The label on this wine features original art by Wally Mann of Tokeland.

The second, Nirvana, is made from grapes hand-picked at Mays’ Discovery Vineyards in the Horse Heaven Hills. This balanced blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah benefits Grays Harbor PAWS. This label features Carrie Roberts, the daughter of the winery owners and the business’s general manager, as a six month old learning to swim.

The third winner at this competition was Captain Gray, the winery’s only varietal Gewurztraminer. These grapes were harvested at Red Willow Vineyard in the Yakima Valley AVA. This label features an original painting of the winery by Westport artist Barbara Sampson.

Westport Winery’s award-winning wines are exclusively available at the winery. The tasting room, gift shop, produce market, plant nursery and bakery are open daily from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. The restaurant is open for lunch daily from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and for dinner on Friday and Saturday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. For more information contact Westport Winery at 360-648-2224 or visit the website at www.westportwinery.com.
