On view this winter quarter at Galerie Fotoland, are the recent works by photography alumni Erica Keeling and Paul Elliott.  Though both working with the traditional tools of color film and medium-format cameras, they follow different paths in concept and in subject choices.

Erica Keeling’s days are filled with antiquated glamour, boundless curiosity and quiet humor. In her work she continues these sentiments, often depicting her subjects alone in staged roles and setting, where they are left to be absorbed and examined by the viewer. Each image captures an intimate moment from a larger narrative–scenes articulated with extraordinary intention. Erica served as an Evergreen photo intern in the 2010-2011. She shows her photographs, as well as paintings, regularly in Olympia and Seattle.

“I make photographs to capture moments that are telling of character. I shoot every day because I want to be my best,” says recent grad Paul Elliott.  Elliott graduated from Evergreen in 2013, where he studied math, computer science and photography. His images were created during the summer months following his graduation.

Galerie Fotoland is an exhibition space supported by Evergreen’s Photoland.
The gallery is open during normal school hours most days of the week. For more information regarding this show and others at Galerie Fotoland please contact Eleanor Price at priele06@evergreen.edu
