A recent season ticket holder, Amy Metcalfe, and her husband, Dan Metcalfe, were thrilled to have won the Man of the Match prize for the September 29 match against the New York Red Bulls. She said, “We’ve been taking our son to matches since he was three months. He now has his own season tickets. He’s three years old. He loves it.”
At the start of the match, the winner and their guest are taken to Washington’s Lottery sideline couch, one of the closest seats to the field. The winners receive a Sounders FC jersey and complimentary food and drink service throughout the entire match, so they can fully enjoy the rare occasion to sit so close.
“The best part of the match was just being right up there by the sideline where you could really hear the players,” said Metcalfe. She and her family usually sit further up in the stadium. She said, “Hearing them talking to each other after the plays, those are the things you never hear or see on TV.”
Metcalfe participated in the Sounders FC Man of the Match sweepstakes held at all Sounders FC home matches. All match attendees 18 and older have the opportunity to get a ballot and make their selection for the Man of the Match. If the Sounders FC win or tie, all the players who choose correctly, get their ballot placed in the drawing for the chance to win the Washington’s Lottery sideline couch experience.
The next winner will sit on the Washington’s Lottery sideline couch at the October 9 match against the Vancouver Whitecaps FC.
