Just a friendly reminder to our wonderful race fans that there will be races this Saturday October 5th at Grays Harbor Raceway in Elma. This will be your last chance to see the heart stopping action on the 3/8-mile clay. It will be your last opportunity to see edge of your seat racing and have your breath be taken away lap after lap. Classes on the card will include the Northwest Extreme Winged Sprints, Cut Rate Auto Parts Street Stocks, and Hornets. And don’t think for a minute that just because the championships have been decided that these guys are going to take it easy.
Tickets for Saturday will be Adults $13.00, Senior (62+)/Juniors (13-18)/Military $10.00, Youths (6-12) $5.00, Youths (5 and Under) FREE, Family Pass (Two Adults and Up To Four Youths) $30.00, and Premium Seating $20.00. Pit gates open at 2:30, front gates, 4:30, and racing starting around 6:30.
The Northwest Extreme Winged Sprints will make their fourth appearance of the year this Saturday. In the three previous completed events Kenny Rutz has been victorious twice while Sammy Wright has won once. In addition to this class competing they will be eligible for several giveaways courtesy of several generous organizations (complete list at the bottom of this release). We would again like to send huge thank you to Joe’s Racing Products, Richmond Engines, Barry Martinez with Speedmart Inc., A-1 Supply of Camrose, Alberta, and Highline Performance for donating these fantastic prizes.
Jason Tole leads the Cut Rate Auto Parts Street Stocks win list in addition to his 2013 championship. Tole has nine wins while Cory Sweatman, Jack Parshall, and Austin Kerrigan all have one triumph each. Tole was also winner of the Cut Rate Auto Parts Iron Man 100 back in June.
In the Hornet ranks Jeff Daniel has put together the most visits to victory lane this season with four wins. 2013 Hornet champ Chad Norton has won three times while Brian Norton has done so twice. Willie Wright is the only other winner this season with just his single victory.
The Grays Harbor Raceway is known for its high speeds and side by side racing as well as its large track size. Hosting racing action from April to October regular classes include 360 Sprints, IMCA Modifieds, USAC Ford Focus Midgets, Street Stocks, Hornets, and for the first time the Northwest Extreme Winged Sprint Car Series. Special events include visits by the World of Outlaw Sprint Car Series and American Sprint Car Series-Northwest Region.
