The YWCA of Olympia will hold their Annual Meeting and Open House Picnic on Tuesday, July 23 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Kearney House (220 Union Avenue SE, Olympia). The theme of this year’s meeting is “In Their Shoes” which highlights the stories of individuals served by the YWCA of Olympia.  Program staff from Girls Without Limits!, the Other Bank, and Girls Circle will be on hand to discuss services available and answer any questions.  Board members will also be in attendance to welcome guests.

According to YWCA Executive Director Tammy Stampfli, “Our Annual Meeting and Open House Picnic is a wonderful opportunity for our community to learn about our programs which empower women, girls and families. The “In Their Shoes” stories we will share will inspire.”

The event is open to the public and will also feature tours of the historic Kearney House, which recently underwent significant renovation, the Other Bank, and Kathleen’s Clubhouse.  A free picnic dinner will be offered and all are welcomed.

Established in 1945, the YWCA of Olympia offers responsive programs and services to meet the needs of women, girls and families.  We are inspiring a new generation to become strong leaders and advocates for opportunity and equity for all women.  The YWCA of Olympia strives to empower women and eliminate racism through education, advocacy, service and leadership opportunities.  The YWCA has worked to change history—from civil rights to women’s rights, from advocacy for women’s health care to an end to violence against women and girls. The YWCA is the voice for every woman. We speak out and take action on behalf of women and girls. The YWCA and our members and volunteers contribute time, talent, tenacity and financial support for the betterment of all women in our community.
