Elma, Washington- As the 2013 keeps moving along at Grays Harbor Raceway a very special event will be taking place on Saturday May 18th.  The night will mark the first ever Cut Rate Auto Parts 100 for the Street Stock division, which just so happens to sponsor the division as well.  The winner will collect a cool $650.00 when everything is all said and done at night’s end once all one-hundred laps are complete.

“We’ve enjoyed working with the people at Grays Harbor Raceway tremendously over the years,” commented Larry DeMoss, co-owner of Cut Rate Auto Parts, “one-hundred laps is going to be very enjoyable to watch.  We’re just happy we can be a part of this great event.”

The race will be divided up between two fifty lap sessions.  A mandatory caution will be brought out around lap fifty to allow everyone to refuel their cars.  Once they are all filled back up with fuel the remaining fifty laps will be completed.

“It’s going to be exciting,” stated Brian Izzi, “it definitely is something different.  I think the key is going to be just staying on the lead lap and keep up with the leaders.  It’s really cool that Cut Rate Auto Parts has done this for the Street Stocks.”

As of this writing only one race has been ran for the Cut Rate Auto Parts Street Stock division.  But in that one race Jack Parshall won it in thrilling fashion holding back Cory Sweatman and Brian Izzi.  Parshall set the most fast times during qualifying in 2012 but unfortunately did not manage to earn a victory at GHR.

“My plan is just to survive those first fifty laps and race hard in the end,” said Parshall, “it’s great that the track has done this.  Cut Rate Auto Parts is an awesome business that treats us racers great when we come in for parts.”

Other classes that will be in action will include the 360 Sprints, Shipwreck Beads IMCA Modifieds, and Hornets.  For the 360 Sprints it will be their last chance to take to the track before the Spring Challenge.  Taking place on Saturday May 25th and Sunday the 26th the Spring Challenge will be the season opening weekend for the American Sprint Car Series-Northwest Region.
