The Olympia School Board will have new leadership once the New Year begins. Outgoing Board President Mark Campeau has passed the gavel to Eileen Thomson, who will take over the duties of Board President at the next Board Meeting on January 14, 2013. Justin Montermini will take over as Vice President of the Board. Thomson has served on the Board since 2008 while Montermini is the newest member of the board having been elected in 2011.
At the conclusion of the Board meeting last night the School Board sincerely thanked Mark Campeau for his guidance and leadership as President of the Board over the past year. Campeau provided thoughtful insight and a solid foundation for the board during very difficult budgetary times. He will remain a member of the Board.
