OLYMPIA – The third of five candidates for president of South Puget Sound Community College will visit the campus and community, Thursday, Dec. 6. Dr. Sandra A. Fowler-Hill, executive vice president of Instruction and Student Services at Everett Community College will tour the campus and community, meet faculty and staff, visit with the Board of Trustees, and take part in an open forum for the community and campus.
Prior to serving as executive vice president of Instruction and Student Services at Everett Community College, which includes the University Center of North Puget Sound, Fowler-Hill served as executive dean for Student Learning at Cascadia Community College providing leadership for the college’s initial regional accreditation. She served 19 years at Olympic College in various leadership roles including dean, program manager, and as a tenured faculty recognized for teaching excellence. Fowler-Hill currently serves on the Workforce Development Council of Snohomish County board and represented the Northwest region on the national board of the American Association of Women in Community Colleges. She has served as an accreditation evaluator for the past ten years for the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities. Fowler-Hill lives with her husband of 33 years in Lynnwood, WA, and is the proud mom of two children who have both been community college students.
The Dec. 6 forum will be held on the South Puget Sound campus in the Building 26 Lecture Hall, Room 105 from 2:15 – 3:15 p.m. The dates the other four finalists will visit the community are as follows:
* Tuesday, Dec. 4. – Dr. Larry Galizio, president of Clatsop Community College in Astoria, Oregon
* Wednesday, Dec. 5. Dr. Douglas W. Allen, president of Ridgewater College in Willmar, Minnesota
* Monday, Dec. 10 – Dr. David M. Smith, vice president of Instruction and Student Affairs at Colorado Northwestern Community College in Rangely, Colorado
* Tuesday, Dec. 11 – Dr. Timothy S. Stokes, executive vice president for Academic and Student Affairs, Tacoma Community College in Tacoma, Washington
