It’s safe to say that Tumwater High School and Archbishop Murphy have a history in the 2A state playoffs. In 2010, Tumwater won the 2A crown by defeating the Wildcats 34-14. Last fall, the Wildcats got their revenge by blowing out the T-Birds 41-6. Last night however belonged to Tumwater, as they ran past the Wildcats 21-0 at home on the very same field they lost on, in last years playoffs.
With the win, Tumwater moves on to the state semi-finals, where they will play the winner of either Prosser or Othello High School. If Tumwater is able to win that match-up, the will advance to the 2A state title game, which will be held in the Tacoma Dome on Saturday, Dec. 1 at 1 p.m.
