Olympia, WA – Ballet Northwest is pleased to host Oregon Ballet Theatre this fall in Olympia for a mixed-rep production at the Washington Center. The event features a Joie de Vivre (Joy of Living) -themed Silent Auction of items donated by local businesses. Auction and ticket sales proceeds will benefit Ballet Northwest’s education programs for local youth.

The one-time only performance features professional dancers in works by world-famous choreographers George Balanchine (New York City Ballet), Christopher Wheeldon (Royal Ballet) and OBT’s own Artistic Director Christopher Stowell. The pieces feature music by Igor Stravinsky, Arvo Part and Cole Porter. The program also includes the famed Peasant Pas de Deux from Giselle. The company has recently toured to the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C., The Joyce Theater in New York City, and overseas to South Korea.

(Stowell’s) Eyes on You winks at show-folk traditions… With sly nods to ballroom dancing and the heyday of Hollywood, Eyes on You brings the black and white era roaring to back to life with wit and sophistication”. – Oregon Ballet Theatre

This program is supported, in part, by a grant from the Washington State Arts Commission.

Oregon Ballet Theatre performs at The Washington Center for the Performing Arts in downtown Olympia Saturday October 27, 2012. Doors open at 6:30pm for the silent auction and curtain time is 7:30pm. Tickets range from $15 to $30, plus $3.00 service fee.
