Mid-week merriment is guaranteed at the PAWSitively fun opening day of the Thurston County Fair on Wednesday, August 1.
“The weather is slated to be absolutely perfect for a day at the fair. And with entry only a dollar per person with a food donation, the entire family can have a good time and not break the bank” said Rick Storvick, Thurston County Fair Manager.
August 1 is “One-Buck Wednesday” when admission to the fair is only $1 when purchased at the gate along with a non-perishable food donation for each person. Other One-Buck Wednesday specials can be found inside the fair gates, including all carnival rides for just a buck per ride all day, one buck food specials, and other One-Buck Wednesday deals at participating vendors. The fair is open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Wednesday, August 1.
Wednesday, August 1 is packed full of activities and entertainment for the whole family. More than 40 events, contests and performances are scheduled, including mechanical bull riding contests, the bull ride and tractor pull for kids, performances by the Slieveloughane Irish Dancers, the Tanglefoot Cloggers, and High Impact Dance, plus a Welcoming Ceremony with Thurston County Commissioners.
