Celebrate National Trails Day With A Trail Maintenance Project In Lacey

LACEY, WA, May 11, 2012: Celebrate the 20th Annual National Trails Day on Saturday,
June 2, 2012, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. Join volunteers from the Lacey Parks and
Recreation Department at Woodland Creek Community Park, 6729 Pacific Avenue SE, to spread
wood chips on trails in the park, pull weeds and invasive plants, and conduct basic trail
maintenance along the Lacey Woodland Trail. The PARC Foundation of Thurston County and
the Woodland Trail Greenway Association are co-hosting the trail maintenance work party.
Individuals, families, and groups are welcome. Volunteers under the age of 14 must be
accompanied by an adult. Participants will enjoy a barbeque lunch provided by The Alpine
Experience after the project is complete. Please pre-register by Friday, May 25 to ensure that

National Trails Day® is sponsored by the American Hiking Society. Since 1993, this event has
grown to inspire thousands of people to celebrate on the same day nationwide. This year, over
1,000 trail projects will be held throughout the United States on Saturday, June 2, 2012.
