BELLEVUE, Wash. – Three local contractors are recognized by Puget Sound Energy for helping PSE residential customers take advantage of PSE incentives to make their homes more energy-efficient.

PSE announced today that its 2011 Energy Efficiency Action awards honor Seattle, Wash. based companies Brennan Heating & Air Conditioning and Washington Energy Services each winning the award for the fifth consecutive year, and Sunset Air, Inc. of Lacey, Wash. who won the award for third time.

Sunset Air, Inc. previously won the utility award in 2008 and 2007 for their work installing energy efficient space and water heating equipment in customers’ homes in 2007 and 2006.

“PSE has been an important partner to Sunset Air for more than 30 years,” said Brian Fluetsch president of Sunset Air, Inc. “It is an honor for us to be recognized with this award for what we do best, keeping families comfortable and saving them money on their utility bills.”

Each winner earns distinction for outstanding performance in helping residential customers save electricity and natural gas. Together, the three contractors installed enough high-efficiency furnaces, water heaters and heat pumps to account for 38 percent of the total space and water heating rebates PSE provided its existing single family residential customers in 2011. In all, the three award-winning contractors performed more than 1,700 energy-efficient residential retrofits in 2011.

Brennan Heating & Air Conditioning and Washington Energy Services are part of PSE’s Contractor Alliance Network (formally the Contractor Referral Service), which includes local, independent contractors pre-screened by PSE to perform residential energy efficiency retrofits that may qualify for PSE rebates.

PSE residential customers can take advantage of PSE rebates on energy-efficient appliances, equipment and upgrades, including discounts on compact fluorescent light (CFL) and light emitting diode (LED) lighting, up to $3,950 to convert your home from electric to natural gas, up to $1,700 for insulation upgrades, $1,200 for ductless heat pumps, $500 for heat pump water heaters, $250 for natural gas furnaces, and rebates for clothes washers, refrigerators and many other incentives.
