Saturday July 23rd and Sunday July 24th: Get ready for the culinary event of the summer; the Pacific Northwest Mushroom Festival (8345 Steilacoom Rd SE
Lacey, WA 98503), this weekend. There will be great speakers including Ciscoe Morris, and local executive chefs from our area’s best restaurants! All kinds of mushrooms will be for sale in addition to other great culinary creations with and without mushrooms. In addition there will be fun activities for the kids like bouncy-houses, pirates, and the playgrounds of the Athletic Complex. Children 12 and under can attend this event for free, for those older than that, you have to purchase a five dollar button from local participating retailers.

Sunday July 24th: Support our local animal shelters and charities during Paws For the Cause at the Hawks Prairie Veterinary Hospital (8919 Martin Way Lacey, WA 98516) from 10AM – 3PM. This is a free, fun, and educational fundraising event that will help you to learn about pet care, community shelters and rescue foundations, and how you can help pets in need. There will also be a variety of retail booths, a portrait studio, a Treasure Chest Contest (prizes valued between $250 and $500), and bouncy houses and face-painting for the kids!
Sunday July 24th: Get your dancing shoes on ladies and gents! The Urban Onion Ballroom (116 Legion Way Olympia, WA 98501) has a swing dance night with free dance lessons every Sunday evening. From 7PM – 7:45PM are free beginning swing lessons, and from 8PM – 10:30PM hit the dance floor. All ages are welcome.
