Weekend Update: April 16th-17th
Saturday – Sunday April 16th – 17th: The Olympia Choral Society presents a free concert at the James E. Koval Performing Arts Center located in N. Thurston High School (600 Sleater-Kinney Rd. SE. Olympia, WA 98506). The theme is “Mostly Mozart,” with the songs and arrangements based on his work. They will be performing twice this weekend, on Saturday at 7:30PM, and on Sunday at 2:30PM; the doors open a half hour before each performance.
Sunday April 17th: The Underground Derby League (Olympia Skateland 2725 12th Ave NE Olympia, WA 98506) is having a double-header match this Sunday! The doors open at 5:30PM and the match starts at 6PM. Roller Derby is an all-female roller-skating sport wherein both teams form a pack and race around the rink at high speed. The pack is chased by a member from each team, called “jammers,” who try to pass as many members of the opposite team in the pack in order to score points.
This weekend’s match is between the Underground Derby League and the “Taco Kickers.” The league is selling tickets to this event via this link: http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/165541
