Dick Pust, long time radio personality, has announced  that he is running for Olympia mayor.  His decision was expected.

“After my abrupt departure from KGY, many people have asked me what I plan to do next,” Pust said.   “I said I needed a little time to clear my head before making a decision.

“My years in broadcasting were devoted to serving the people.   Now I have a chance to serve in a different way,” he said.

“I want to be Olympia’s next mayor.”

Pust went on to say, “I’ve spent a lifetime being involved in virtually every aspect of life in Olympia.  Through my radio program I provided a platform for community leaders of all political persuasions.

“I applauded those who had the courage to run for office.   I was never able to run because of FCC legal restraints.  Those restraints are no longer valid for me.   Now I can step up to the plate and offer my services.”

Pust said he was not supported by any special interest group.  “I represent no political party.  I have no axe to grind.  I’m not driven by any single issue.”

“Olympia’s a great place in which to live,” Pust said.  “It has a wonderful past, but the best is yet to come.

“I want to make that happen.”
