The Tenino Chamber of Commerce celebrated it’s annual Tree Lighting ceremony last night (Dec. 4th) at a new location, the Tenino City Park, which tied into the city’s first ever “Holiday in the Park”. The event was MC’d by Police Chief Sean Gallagher and featured holiday music by the Tenino High School Band, directed by Mr. Bowerly and a very special visit from Santa, who also brought along Mrs. Claus and enough candy canes for everyone! Other activities throughout the day included  a celebration of the recent acquisition of 12 acres of timberland adjacent to the park, the “Winterfest” craft bazaar at the High School which was sponsored by the Tenino Community Service Center as well as many other activities throughout the community. Many local businesses also participated in the festivities, such as the Sandstone Salon and Spa who also hosted a visit from Santa.
