Poetry Workshop: Washington State Poet Laureate Elizabeth Austen

Join Washington State Poet Laureate Elizabeth Austen for a free, hands-on poetry workshop sponsored by the Olympia Poetry Network.  This event takes place Saturday, March 21, 2:30 to 4:30 at the Olympia Center, 222 Columbia St. NW in downtown Olympia. Class includes close readings of a few contemporary poems, then using one as a model, participants will write their own first draft. No previous writing experience needed, and all are welcome.  Later that evening, Austin, along with local poet Tim Kelly, will give a poetry reading from 7-8:30 p.m. at Orca Books.  For more information, call 360-701-2030.
