Are you interested in managing livestock manure on your property and want to know where to start? This presentation will help you get to know ways you can collect, safely store, effectively compost, and considerations when spreading manure or removing it offsite. Manure is a valuable resource to your land and to your pasture and hay fields. Focusing on what type of management system will work for you will help you reduce mud, reduce flies and parasite loads, improve chore efficiency, and reducing the volume of manure in the process. All of this can be done while protecting water resources and minimizing any runoff or leaching of nutrients in the process, which will have a hugely positive impact on water quality in your watershed. This is a great opportunity for anyone interested in learning more about developing a manure management system that addresses your goals and concerns on your land.
