Buster Keaton’s 1926 masterpiece The General is a seamless combination of silent comedy, action/adventure, romance and historical epic; it’s an amazing feat of precision filmmaking that still shines nearly 90 years after it first hit the screen.  Based on a true story, The General tells the Civil War-era tale of Johnnie Gray (Keaton), a locomotive engineer in the Confederate South who loves nothing more than his girl Annabelle (Marion Mack) and his engine, The General. When Yankee spies kidnap Annabelle and hijack the General, Johnny gives chase, setting into motion an ingenious series of sight gags and stunts.

The band will be performing their original score utilizing the Center’s Mighty Andy Crow Wurlitzer Organ.  This evening is a great opportunity to hear this legend of musical history on the Mainstage.

This event is FREE and open to the public.  Please contact the Box Office with questions
