On Sunday, September 11, at 10:00am St. Mark Lutheran Church in Lacey, WA is dedicating the Clean Kids Laundry Facility which was created for use by North Thurston Public Schools homeless students and their families.
Many people, contractors, and community organizations pooled together to assist in making this vision a reality. Funds came from Lacey Rotary, the North Thurston Education Foundation, Altrusa, as well as from building contractors, church members and members of the community.
We will have a potluck brunch in the parish hall after our 8:30 service and the ribbon cutting ceremonies will begin at 10:00. After this, we are also dedicating our garden utility shed (GUS) which will be used to house equipment for our St. Mark Community Garden. Our community garden gives close to 10,000 pounds of fresh, healthy produce to the Thurston County Food Bank each year. We invite you to come celebrate with us.
