Enjoy hot cider and snacks while learning from trained Salmon Stewards about the wild spawning chum salmon at the McLane Creek Nature Trail on Sunday, November 15 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.  The celebration, hosted by Thurston County Stream Team and the state Department of Natural Resources, takes place rain or shine. Visitors are advised to come dressed for the weather and to wear sturdy boots or shoes. Participants will meet at the covered shelter in the lower parking lot.

To get to the McLane Creek Nature Trail, take the Evergreen State College exit from northbound Highway 101. Exit at Mud Bay Road and turn left at the stop sign onto Delphi Road. After 3.4 miles, turn right at the trail sign. Visitors need to display a Discover Pass when they enter because the trail is a state recreation site. For information about how to purchase a $10 day pass or $30 annual pass, visit www.discoverpass.wa.gov
