Australian stand-up comedian Aamer Rahman will be the featured performer at a comedy show aimed at issues of race and social justice on Friday, April 10 at The Evergreen State College Longhouse, at 7pm.

Rahman, whose ancestors hail from Bangladesh, began his comedic rise as half the award-winning cult comedy duo, Fear of a Brown Planet. His act focuses on politics, racism, the War on Terror and Batman. He has performed sold-out shows at some of the world’s largest festivals such as the Melbourne International Comedy Festival and the Edinburgh Fringe. In 2014, Rahman supported legendary comic Dave Chappelle on his Australian tour, as well as performing sold-out runs of his debut solo show, The Truth Hurts across the US and UK, where he was named one The Guardian’s Top 10 live comedy shows of the year.  There will be Q&A with Aamer Rahman after his set.

The event is open to the public, free to Evergreen students, $5 for community members and $10 at the door. Parking is $2. Advance purchase: http://www.evergreen.edu/multicultural/Aamer-Rahman.htm
