Meet South Puget Sound Community College’s 2022 Outstanding Student Award Recipients

South Puget Sound Community College (SPSCC) presented students Molly Echols, Yuho Fujii, and Jemal Ozkara with the 2022 Outstanding Student Award at the SPSCC Commencement Ceremony on June 10, 2022.

Molly, Yuho, and Jemal were nominated by college staff and faculty to recognize each student’s personal growth, academic achievement, and contributions to the college and community during their time at SPSCC. Each student was awarded a $500 scholarship from the SPSCC Foundation.

Molly Echols received a 3.85 GPA while earning her degree in Nursing. Three words she would use to describe herself are indomitable, altruistic, and conscientious. Following graduation, Molly will begin her residency as a Registered Nurse at a local hospital. She intends to continue her education by pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and working her way towards a Doctor of Nursing Practice. Molly looks forward to getting involved with clinics caring for underserved local populations.

Yuho Fujii received a 4.0 GPA while earning her Associate in Arts degree. Three words she would use to describe herself are career-oriented, humble, and diligent. Following graduation, Yuho hopes to continue her education by transferring to a four-year college to major in International Relations and beginning her career by working for a non-government organization that supports refugees.

Jemal Ozkara received a 3.9 GPA while earning her Associate of Applied Science in Office Technology and Administration: Medical Administrative Assistant degree and Clerk/Receptionist Certificate. She describes herself as goal-oriented and always achieves what she sets her mind to. Following graduation, Jemal will enter the workforce.
