Meet Maurice! He is a 51-pound, 1-year-old Airedale terrier/husky mix and an all-round good boy! He has luscious Apricot/Beige long hair with a husky undercoat.

This lovely fellow, whom we have named Maurice, is fun unique guy who enjoys the company of people immensely. He does not like to be alone and lets you know by singing a lovely song that rivals another dog in the shelter named Dolly Parton. He loves to be brushed, walked, toys, and to be loved on. This volunteer favorite has an adorable face and captivating eyes.

Because he is a county stray, we are still learning about his personality and preferences. He is definitely a smart dog that already knows sit and shake and does so to receive his meals! Please note, due to his variety breeds, please note his coat is not hypoallergenic nor can it be shaved down. It is unknown at this time how he would do in a home with cats, kids, other dogs, and/or other critters. Maurice does exhibit puppy like traits regarding chewing (no blankets or rugs in his kennel) and he is working on house-training. He would love a home in the country where he can run to his heart’s content.

If you have further questions, emails are the only method of communication at this time.   We all care about the health of our two-legged caregivers and the community at large, so as a precaution we are temporarily suspending our public open hours. We are still taking email inquiries and applications, and will be in touch with you as soon as we are able. We appreciate everyone’s understanding during this difficult time! Stay Well!
