TwinStar Credit Union members will have convenient new options to manage their money in person with the opening of two new branches located in the Harrison Avenue Safeway store in West Olympia and another in the Hawks Prairie Safeway store located on Marvin Road.

Both branches will be full service, allowing TwinStar members to deposit and withdraw funds, make loan payments and apply for credit cards, auto, boat, and RV loans. Members can also meet with mortgage loan officers and financial advisors by appointment. Appointments can be made by calling 800.258.3115.

“We continue to invest in ways that make banking more convenient and accessible to our members —particularly important during the unique times we are living in,” said TwinStar CEO Jeff Kennedy. “Both new branches are located in commercial centers where our members are naturally shopping. We hope this will help them save time and reduce stops while we’re all trying to stay safe.”

The new West Olympia Safeway location at 3215 Harrison Ave NW will replace a long-time branch located at 2400 Evergreen Park Drive SW. The closure of the Evergreen Park branch will take place at 1 pm on September 11 and the Harrison Blvd location will open on September 14. The Hawks Prairie Safeway location at 1243 Marvin Rd NE will open September 28.

In concert with the new branch openings, TwinStar will be offering free document shredding and technology component recycling in the parking lot of the Hawks Prairie Safeway on Sept. 26 from 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM. There will be a two-box limit on the paper shredding service. Computers, tablets, laptops, microwaves, cabling, stereos, and old gaming systems can be donated. However no printers or monitors will accepted.

For those who would like to help lift the burden of individuals in financial distress, TwinStar will also be accepting food donations to the Thurston County Food Bank during the recycling drive on September 26.

TwinStar Credit Union was founded by Olympia High School teachers in 1938 and has deep roots in the education community, funding classroom grants to teachers, college scholarships to high school seniors and helping pay off school lunch debt for thousands of school children each year.
