At Merle Norman Cosmetics, Wigs, & Day Spa, relaxation abounds with a variety of salon services in Lacey. When it’s time for a day of pampering, cosmetologists, massage therapists and Merle Norman consultants are on site. Whether it be a deep tissue massage, a makeover or a new haircut, Merle Norman owner, Madelin White, and her team are dedicated to helping clients feel relaxed, cared for, and looking and feeling their best.
Three hairstylists are available at Merle Norman and each stylist provides a full menu of hair cutting and coloring services. White says that each hairdresser has years of experience and each stays up to date on modern hairstyling techniques and styles by attending continuing education classes. Hair styling services include haircuts, perms, all over color, highlights and lowlights.
The Merle Norman team also provides makeup services, including free makeovers and mini facials. During a free makeover, a Merle Norman consultant will walk the client through a basic makeup routine, teaching the client how to apply each product. For a wedding, prom or date night, special event and bridal makeup services are also available, applied to the client by a trained beauty professional.
Whether it be for relaxation or to aid in injury recovery, massage services are also at Merle Norman. Don Harkcom, LMP, massage therapist at Merle Norman, is trained in Swedish massage techniques including relaxation massages, prenatal massages and therapeutic massages for clients who are recovering from an injury. “I help people recovering from car accidents to on the job injuries,” says Harkcom. “I’m trained as a Swedish massage therapist, which is the umbrella for all western philosophy massage. I specialize in getting people functional and better again.”
A new service added to the Merle Norman spa repertoire is permanent cosmetics. Tone Benestad of Eternal Cosmetic Enhancement specializes in medical tattooing including areola and nipple re-pigmentation after surgeries of the breast. Benestad is licensed in the State of Washington and has been providing medical tattooing services for over 20 years and is now a part of the Merle Norman team. Benestad can also accentuate multiple features of the face through permanent lip liner and color, permanent eyeliner and eyebrow filling and shading.
