Residents from Tumwater, Olympia and throughout Thurston County gathered in Tumwater for the annual Independence Day Parade July 4, 2019 on Capitol Boulevard. For over 25 years the City of Tumwater has hosted the parade. Melissa Merten of Tumwater brought her two children to watch the parade. “We loved the Black Hills football and Cheer teams,” stated Merten’s children.

Kidder Mathews LogoLocal resident Chuck Mayo enjoyed the various groups and the youth involved in the parade. “I like seeing all the young people. They are our future,” stated Mayo. Bush Middle School student, Jack Chandler and his friends gathered and enjoyed the Tumwater Football and Cheer Team truck and some of the other displays. “I thought all the cars were great,” Chandler noted. The parade featured members from both local high schools, Tumwater and Black Hills, mayors, bands, car and horse clubs and civic servants.
