Beginning Monday, August 20, 2018, City crews will remove one tree and replace a portion of the sidewalk on the east side of Capitol Way, between 4th and State Avenues. A new, larger, tree grate will be installed with the project and a new tree will be planted in late fall. During this time, there will be sidewalk and parking closures adjacent to the project. Area businesses will remain open and patrons will be allowed access.
Travelers should expect lane restrictions and traffic delays during construction. Flaggers will direct motorists and pedestrians through the construction area when necessary. The project is expected to last 1 to 2 weeks.
