  • The Formative Years of Presidents Truman and Reagan
    Description:
Michael Allen is a University of Washington, Tacoma, history professor

Dr. Allen contends that Harry Truman and Ronald Reagan rank alongside Theodore and Franklin Roosevelt as two of the four most pivotal U.S. presidents of the 20th century. Truman and Reagan?s backgrounds are very different from that of the two New Yorkers. Both Mississippi Valley men, their formative Midwestern upbringing was strongly
impacted by the culture of the American heartland.
