Workshop Description:

Breaking Bard Part 1:
Saturday January 24th, Sunday January 25th.
10am-5pm with lunch break from 1-2

In this 2 day workshop we’ll explore how an actor can craft a performance that is absolutely engaging from moment to moment using a set of techniques developed at the world famous Oregon Shakespeare Festival. In this workshop we’ll apply these techniques to monologues and to scenes, while also spending time developing a familiarity with the rhythms of Shakespeare’s speech. The first day will be focused on getting Shakespeare on it’s feet and introducing some of the basic concepts of Scott Kaiser’s technique of orchestration. The second day we’ll study the more advanced orchestration techniques and will craft individual and group performances that apply these techniques.
