The first is our MLK Day of Service event at McLane Creek Nature Trail. Native Plant Salvage Foundation is collaborating with Thurston County 4-H Youth Development on an ecological restoration project at McLane Creek. We are inviting local volunteers to help us remove invasive species such as knotweed, reed canary grass, and Himalayan blackberry in preparation for future native plantings at the site. The work party is from 10 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. Tasks will be available for people of all ages and abilities. Register via Native Plant Salvage Foundation at 360-867-2167 or by email at nativeplantsalvage@gmail.com. Workshop details and directions will be sent to all participants in advance.
