In 2024, the City of Lacey (City) will have a new, competitive Human Services Grant Program that allocates up to $300,000 to support human services in the community.

To help with this program, the City is looking for seven community members to serve on an ad hoc Human Services Workgroup (Workgroup).

The Workgroup’s primary duties and responsibilities include:

  • Review 2024 Human Services Grant Program applications.
  • Make recommendations to the City Council for 2024 funding allocations.
  • Advise on a human-services needs assessment.
  • Make a recommendation on long-term funding priorities.
  • Make a recommendation on a human services advisory board.
  • Meet at least once per month, or as needed, throughout 2024.

The Workgroup will consist of:

  • Five members who reside within Lacey.
  • Up to two members who reside in the Lacey Urban Growth Area.
  • Of the seven members, two may have experience within human services. (Residency requirement may be waived).

Once appointed, members will be eligible to opt-in for a stipend of $50 per regular meeting, up to a maximum of $500 in a year.

The application period is open now through Friday, April 12.
