Drivers will notice new speed limit signs on State Route 510 near Lacey. The Washington State Department of Transportation will temporarily reduce the speed limit from 50 mph to 35 mph between milepost 6.5 and milepost 8. The speed limit reduction is located in a work zone where crews working for the Washington State Department of Transportation are building a new SR 510/Meridian Road Southeast roundabout.

The reduced speed limit will remain in place during work hours through project completion. The roundabout is expected to be complete by early summer 2019. The lowered speed limit is enforceable when the signs are posted.

Ramp Closure

Drivers who use the State Route 510 (Marvin Road) on-ramp to southbound Interstate 5 in Lacey are encouraged to plan extra travel time during overnight hours of Monday, March 11. A night ramp closure will allow crews working for the Washington State Department of Transportation to make asphalt repairs to the on-ramp.

Ramp closure specifics

  • From 9 p.m. Monday, March 11, until 5 a.m. Tuesday, March 12, Marvin Road (SR 510) on-ramp to southbound I-5 will close.

The work is associated with the project that will convert the existing interchange into a diverging diamond interchange.
