Bordello Blonde a blend of off-dry Gewurztraminer and Riesling harvested at Red Willow Vineyard earned its double gold in the white proprietary blend class. A portion of the proceeds from this wine benefits the Aberdeen Museum of History. The label features original art by winery co-owner Kim Roberts. The sculpture commemorating this wine, located in the four-tier meditation garden, was created by North River artist Sherryl Jackson. The tasting notes suggest this wine is “sexy and soft, she goes with anyone and anything.” In the winery’s Sea Glass Grill this blend is paired with Corks, Crab and Cheese featuring Cougar Gold cheese sauce and fresh Dungeness crab. The fitting musical pairing for this wine is Edge of Glory by Lady Gaga.
Shiver Me Timbers a unique blend of passionfruit, orange and guava with Riesling also brought home a double gold medal. A portion of the proceeds from Shiver benefits Habitat For Humanity of Grays Harbor. This label is commemorated in the outdoor sculpture garden with an intricate metal design by Aberdeen artist Mike Peterson. This wine is said to create “waves of tropical bliss” as it is paired with the Salmagundi (Pirate) Salad. It makes sense that its musical pairing is with Jimmy Buffett’s ballad A Pirate Looks at Forty. This label is by Maui photographer Randy Miller of Lahaina Harbor where the Roberts family previously owned Lahaina Divers.
In 2017 the Westport Winery was named Greater Grays Harbor Business of the Year. USA Today named the Sea Glass Grill at Westport Winery Garden Resort one of the top five winery restaurants in the nation. The business has been voted Best Winery by King 5 Evening Magazine.
In 2016 Westport Winery was honored as one of the top twenty most-admired wineries in North America by Winery & Vineyard Management Magazine. The business earned Best Winery, Best Wine Shop, and Best Boutique Winery for 2016 by South Sound Magazine. They received the Grays Harbor Environmental Stewardship Award in 2015. They were named the Best Washington Family Business Silver Medal winners in 2012 by Seattle Business Magazine. And in 2011 they garnered Washington Winery to Watch by Wine Press Northwest.
In Oregon, Westport Winery Seaside is open daily from 11am to 6pm. Westport Winery TASTING @ Cannon Beach is open Saturday and Sunday from 11am to 6pm.
Family-friendly Westport Winery Garden Resort is located on the corner of Highway 105 and South Arbor Road halfway between Aberdeen and Westport. The Sea Glass Grill at the resort is open daily or breakfast, lunch, and dinner from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and until 8:00 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
