Building a successful small business is no easy task. Vast majorities fail within their first few years and those that thrive require time, energy, and persistence from their founders. Henry Ford said “coming together is a beginning; keeping together is progress; working together is success.” This embodies the passion, high standards, and growth seen at Elite Cleaning of Washington.
Started in 2011, owner Scottiejo McNulty has expanded her business to handle 250-300 clients a month. Whether it’s deep cleaning new homes, tackling messes left behind in rental properties, or just an annual spring cleaning, she’s up for any job, commercial or residential.
But now that her company is on firm footing, McNulty can focus on giving back to her community. Her company has recently taken on cleaning the Olympia Farmers Market and participates in local charitable events through the donation of gift certificates.
Laughs Scottiejo, “People get really excited when they get their gift certificates!” These are usually for 3 hours of house cleaning or a free bathroom or kitchen service. Recently she has donated to the KGY Auction, the Fall Ball, Relay for Life, and events through the local Chamber of Commerce and Heritage Bank.
Product-wise, Elite Cleaning uses many Shaklee products, a west-coast company stressing green cleaning techniques and climate change research.
She also strives to shop locally for business supplies whenever possible and hires employees through WorkSource Thurston County. New employees are studiously trained but also reminded to “Always stay positive! Building relationships is our job; we want our clients comfortable with us because we are in their homes…there are plenty of other cleaning companies out there, but they selected us!”
With free estimates, a 100% satisfaction guarantee, and happy clients galore, it’s no wonder Elite Cleaning won the 2014 Best of South Sound contest in their House Cleaning category.
